Blue Shield of California Encourages Californians to Get Vaccinated for COVID-19

Television and radio advertising campaign launches this week

Blue Shield of California has launched “Get it,” a new advertising campaign to encourage all Californians to get vaccinated – and protected – from the deadly COVID-19 virus.

The nonprofit health plan has produced television and radio commercials in English and Spanish, which start airing this week in media markets across the state, especially in communities most impacted by the pandemic.

“In addition to helping ensure vaccine distribution is equitable and timely through our work with Governor Newsom’s vaccine team, we need to motivate people, especially those who are most vulnerable and hesitant, to get vaccinated,” said Blue Shield Vice President of Brand and Customer Acquisition Blair McGrain.

“Our new ‘Get it’ radio and TV spot does exactly this. As divided as our state and country are on just about every issue, it is important that we recognize and acknowledge the things we have in common – whether it’s our love for family and friends, or our shared desire for life to get back to ‘normal.’ It’s on this emotional common ground that we want to inspire people to get the vaccine when they can,” McGrain said.
