In January, Blue Shield of California announced that it was donating $20 million to support the governor’s efforts to address homelessness and behavioral health issues in the state.
We are pleased and proud that our contribution to the California Access to Housing and Services fund has helped launch Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Homekey initiative, announced today.
“Having a place to live is foundational to good health, which makes initiatives such as Homekey essential to creating a health care system that is worthy of our family and friends and sustainably affordable,” said Paul Markovich, president and CEO of Blue Shield of California.
“The state of California has taken action to assist our homeless population during the COVID-19 crisis. Blue Shield fully supports these efforts, and we hope this inspires others in the private sector to contribute.”
