Morgan joined Blue Shield in April 2018 as Senior Vice President of Consumer Markets. He will continue to lead Blue Shield’s TRIO HMO product growth strategy and retain responsibility for Blue Shield’s Individual and Family Plans, which has a strong presence in the Covered California state exchange.

This is an expansion of the role previously held by Arminé Papouchian, who retired on May 3. Morgan brings to his new position extensive experience in both health plan and provider organizations. Among his priorities will be to help create high-caliber provider networks while enhancing a positive provider experience.

Prior to Blue Shield, Morgan held executive leadership positions at a large provider group in Southern California and for a large biopharmaceutical organization. Previously, he was president for Anthem Blue Cross’ California line of business.
