Blue Shield of California Announces Denise McKenna as Vice President of Claims
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. (November 15, 2017) — Denise McKenna has joined Blue Shield of California as vice president of Claims. She oversees end-to-end claims processing and service delivery, and is responsible for expanding the nonprofit health plan’s automation and self-service capabilities.

McKenna has more than 25 years of experience in health plan operations, information technology and network management. She most recently served as vice president of Health Plan Services and Administration at Kaiser Permanente, Colorado.

Previously, McKenna was senior vice president of Operations and Information Technology at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, where she led the design and implementation of the organization's provider self-service portal, consumer engagement strategy, enterprise data and content management strategy and portfolio management. She also held leadership roles at CIBER, Sutter Ambulatory Care Corporation and Chico Medical Group.
