Goode has more than 25 years of communications experience with several global companies, including Kellogg’s, Prudential Financial, American Express and Allstate. She was most recently vice president of Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs at Northwestern Mutual, were she was responsible for leading the company’s internal and external communications strategy.
“Kimberly is a proven leader in her field, closely aligns with our values, and is a wonderful addition to our team. Her strong strategic skills will help us advance our mission," said Paul Markovich, president and CEO of Blue Shield of California. Goode will report to Markovich.
Goode was recently named to PRWeek’s “2017 Hall of Femme,” which honors women who challenge the status quo and strive for creative excellence at some of the biggest brands in the world.

Goode is active in the public relations profession and in the community. She is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society for chief communication officers and the Executive Leadership Council, an organization dedicated to the development of global African-American leaders. She is also a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., The Links, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Goode earned a B.S. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
