Blue Shield of California Launches Healthcare Basics Videos

BY ELIZABETH SCARBOROUGH – Understanding how your health plan works should be easy. For this year’s open enrollment, we are excited to share two “Healthcare Basics” educational videos for members.

Working with our Member Services team, we identified the top issues that were driving call volumes. We learned that many of our members don’t fully understand some common healthcare terms related to their health plan – like coinsurance, copayment, deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.

Whether you’re a Blue Shield member or not, knowing how your health plan works is important. As you review your healthcare options this open enrollment, we’ve got you covered. Our two videos – specific to HMO and PPO plans – will help you get to know your plan better as you decide which option is best for you and your family.
