Blue Shield of California Members Affected by Hurricane Matthew Can Access Behavioral Health Services at Toll-Free Hotline

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 11, 2016) — Magellan Health, Blue Shield of California’s contracted managed care plan for behavioral health, announced it has launched a 24-hour, toll-free hotline for individuals affected by Hurricane Matthew.

The toll‐free number is 1‐800‐327‐7451.

The hotline is staffed by behavioral health professionals and offers resources, materials and counseling services to help people address feelings of fear, sadness, anger or hopelessness related to natural or manmade disasters.

This resource is available to all affected individuals, regardless of their status as a Blue Shield or Magellan member.

Blue Shield will continue to monitor activity and may make further announcements at a later time.
