David Fields Joins Blue Shield of California as Executive Vice President of Markets

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 12, 2015) --- Proven healthcare executive David Fields has joined Blue Shield of California as executive vice president of Markets. He will lead the company’s employer, consumer and senior markets, including strategy, sales, account management, marketing and product development.

Fields brings nearly 30 years of health plan experience to Blue Shield, most recently as senior vice president of the mid-America region at Aetna, where he led complex market segments with more than $8 billion in annual revenue. Additionally, he has Blue Cross and Blue Shield experience, including 10 years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia.
